My name is Curtis Lazure. I am the Design and Creative Lead + Senior UX Designer at Nexus Communications with over 25 years of experience.

Currently I am responsible for leading our UX team and Talent Attraction initiatives.

With a strong background in design principles and an eye for aesthetics I have been able to contribute to extremely successful campaigns in talent attraction and HR Marketing. I have created career sites, social ad campaigns and supporting material for some of North America’s largest companies including Sobeys, Walmart, Spin Master, RBC, CIBC, Albertsons, and Giant Eagle.

Led the Design and UX strategy for Giant Eagles Career Site

As part of a rebranding process across Giant Eagles talent attraction initiatives – I was responsible for working with key HR stakeholder in updated the career site to be more user friendly with a greater emphasis on both banner and role specific jump points.

This allowed users to easily navigate within departments, positions and banners who were eager to quickly get to the ATS.

I was responsible for discovery, IA, wireframing and design.

Led the Design and UX strategy for Spin Master’s Career Site

Rediscovering the kid in you.

One of the common themes from key stake holders was that they wanted the language and look and feel to match the energy and playfulness of the brand, and that of the experiences in enjoying Spin Master products.

The site needed to inform applicants of Spin Master’s employee value proposition, employee experience and allow for easy, direct job application.

The new site would be mobile responsive. My role was to research and provide information architecture recommendations, design wireframes, direct user flow by role type, reduce friction points for applicants, lead the visual design, and work with a 3rd party developer to test features and functionality.

Spin Master wanted a look and feel that complimented the playfulness and high energy that their brand projected.

I was responsible for discovery, copy writing, and design.

Directed the UX strategy of the Irving Shipbuilding Career Site

Working closely with Irving Shipbuilding’s HR and internal developers, a new candidate persona-driven structure was proposed with clearly labeled departments with a focus on featured roles, skilled trades and the ability to search by Position.

This created easier to access jump points to specific jobs within the site immediately taking them to the ATS.

I played an integral role in the discovery, IA, wireframes, hierarchy and design.
